IDYLL
Idyll is sci-fi thriller that explores how unchecked social media dependence, our desire for escape warps our perceptions and endangers mental well-being. Imagine a world strikingly similar to our own. Dissatisfaction and the relentless pursuit of unattainable lifestyles fuel obsession with IDYLL, a VR platform promising glimpses into celebrity lives. Our protagonist, a relatable young woman, is drawn in by this seductive escape. But the seemingly harmless distraction turns sinister with an IDYLL Premium upgrade. Reality and the simulated world blur, shattering her mental health. Inspired (and horrified) by “The Social Dilemma,” this film reveals how social media exploits our psychology, leading to anxiety, depression, and a growing disconnect from reality.
