WOMEN WITH WHEELS

Driving can be an instrument for change, especially for underprivileged women in India. Women with Wheels shows us how a Delhi-based NGO, Azad Foundation, helps women from resource-poor backgrounds become financially independent and empowered through non-traditional livelihood options. Journey with Savita and Geeta as they share how they challenged patriarchal norms by training to become drivers, not only to support themselves but to also provide safe transport to other women. During the Covid-19 pandemic, the women became involved in relief operations, to help disadvantaged communities whilst also giving themselves a sense of purpose in tough times.
