It Starts With Belief

Our understanding of education has always been about what we know. In the United States, we’ve long believed that the purpose of education is to know more, ace exams, accumulate knowledge and attend college. But what if education was a culmination of something else? What if the world we live in today demands that we approach educating young people differently from how many of us were educated as young people? What if beliefs are the driving force of strong outcomes in education? “It Starts with Belief” is a feature documentary that will examine the beliefs of high performing education systems in the US and around the world. The film will take a look at the history of education in the US and will highlight the stories of education systems that have made dramatic impact on student outcomes both in the US and around the world. Students, educators and leading thinkers in education in the US and globally will be interviewed. The film will use animation and other story telling devices to present important data, learnings and historical shifts and the majority of the main characters will be young people.
