Systems. Change. Educators. Unite. (SCEU) is a community for anyone working in systems, in change/social entrepreneurship/social impact, or any educators interested in either or both of those areas. They do that through how and what they teach, and in how they impact the education system, and other systems around them, and beyond.
SCEU is an online platform, community, and movement, helping educators and systems change practitioners connect, share resources, learn from each other, and mastermind together as they individually and collectively identify ways to contribute to shifting the systems that are holding our current global polarity in place and help bring in a new way of being, united.
To positively contribute to the systems changes happening in the world, we need populations that understand complexity, have the humbleness to know that we can’t do this work alone, yet the ambition and understanding to know that everyone can find unique ways to contribute to shifting the systems around them, especially if they have the networks and tools to figure out how to do that together. Educators are a key node in this system, and a key leverage point to help populations understand and engage with complexity.
In these times, we really need educators who are complexity aware yet now is a harder time than ever to be an educator. Therefore now, more than ever, educators need each other. With cancel culture, polarity, environmental degradation, mental health crises, growing economic divides, chronic educational underfunding, the rise of AI, and so much more, educators have increasing pressure to not just do their job well, but to find ways to do their job at all. Many of them realize that their job is different now – and doing their job well might mean challenging some of the siloed, linear, competitive ways we have educated in the past. There needs to be a place where educators can connect, mastermind, together, share resources, co-learn and co-teach, and create ways to be the agents of contributing to change that we need them to be as we all transition in these major global systems change moments in time.
It’s time for a global union, not a political union, but an apolitical one, one focused on the concept of a union: a uniting, a bringing together. May systems practitioners, change practitioners, and educators of all types unite, in service of furthering their own educational experiences and offerings, and in service of our global ability to understand and contribute positively to the changing systems around us.
