The Tiger’s Boxer is named after Burkitt’s lymphoma, known as the tiger’s disease, for how quickly it takes over the body. TIGER is a 2D/3D hallucination that represents Alex’s cancer. Only Alex can see TIGER as they battle throughout the film for Alex’s survival. May has previously been the VFX supervisor for “Bohemian Rhapsody” and the effects supervisor for “Inception” and “The Dark Knight Rises,” among other blockbuster films. Attached is a glimpse of the Tiger’s look.
Jane Schinasi, Writer/Director. Jane has directed 12 documentaries and the 18-minute awarded short “The Tiger’s Boxer,” which David fell in love with to help this amazing journey. In addition to film work, Jane is deeply committed to helping children with cancer through the French non-profit organization HUG BACK (https://www.hugback.fr/Hugback/).
HUG BACK teaches boxing and meditation to teenagers and children with cancer in two French hospitals, offering them strength and resilience in their fight. This initiative has garnered the support of professional boxers such as John Dovi.
Jane’s dedication to this cause aligns perfectly with the “Tiger’s Boxer” message, further enriching the film’s mission and impact.
The aim is to expand these actions to hospitals in the US. Buddha-Bar in Paris has offered to throw the premiere and party for the European release / There will also be a US premiere and party.
