This Is Only A Test
“This Is Only A Test” is a science-fiction psychological thriller film set in Germany in 1942, that begins in a fine restaurant, where a young woman named Ella is having a pleasant afternoon lunch with her best friend Annaliese. Soon, there are approached by Kurt Schroder, a sinister gestapo officer who has discovered Annaliese’s secret jewish heritage. A struggle ensues, and then to her horror, Ella watches as Annaliese is killed in front of her very eyes. Unable to contend with her pain on her own, Ella seeks treatment with Dr. Regler, a brilliant psychologist, but as their session progresses, she begins to slowly realize that not everything is as it seems, and her reality begins to blur. Suddenly, Ella finds herself living the horrific event at the restaurant over and over again, like some sadistic nightmare, unable to do anything to stop it. After each loop she’ll find herself back in the psychologist office, then back to the restaurant, again and again. In between she has strange visions, of strange concrete hallways, of shadowy men speaking a different language, of their waitress Rita being dragged to certain death. Over the course of the film, Ella will have to discover a courage she’s never known, to free herself and Annaliese from the all-powerful forces controlling their world. You’ll be beside her every second, you’ll unravel the mystery with her, you’ll watch as she finds her inner strength, and dares to fight for her freedom.
