ULTRA
ULTRA is an immersive documentary film exploring the heart, grit, and motivation driving athletes to attempt the first ever EPICdeca race. In August of 2020, a select group of athletes will attempt the impossible, completing 10 ironman distance triathlons, in 10 days, on 10 unique courses in the Hawaiian Islands.
Beginning a year out from the race, the audience will step inside the lives of three athletes as they manage all-consuming training, full-time jobs, and personal relationships, while grappling with the sheer magnitude of the goal before them. Exploring the individual stories, pasts, and personal motivation for each athlete as they prepare for the ultimate test of a lifetime of training.
The film will culminate in the EPICdeca event, traveling with the athletes and closely following them over the course of ten grueling, gripping days. Cinematically beautiful and deeply human, we will experience portraits of people using endurance athletics as a form of rehab to cope and transform every area of their lives while fighting to push the boundaries ever farther.
