THE QUILTERS

Director & Producer: Jenifer McShane

THE QUILTERS follows the daily lives of several men, spending most of its screen time inside the sewing room at South Central Correctional, a maximum security prison in a small town in Missouri. As we follow several quilts from design to completion, audiences will come to know these men, witnessing their struggles, triumphs, and sense of pride as they create something beautiful in this windowless, sacred space, deep within the prison walls. The Quilters invites us to see art and empathy where we least expect it. It is testament to the possibility of healing, even behind bars.

12-year-old Tatheer embarks on a week-long Police boot camp for girls from a social housing estate in Copenhagen. Far from home, deep in the woods, she navigates grueling rituals, elusive social dynamics, and personal setbacks to find her place in this tender and revealing coming-of-age story.
