SIMA 2026 Preselection is already underway, but you can still submit an application below to join the SIMA 2027 Preselection Committee for next September, 2026. Please note that SIMA 2027 applications will not be reviewed until July 2026. We will reach out then. Thank you!

Screen up to 100 of the year’s best documentary films (features/ shorts) submitted to the annual Social Impact Media Awards! (Film access, evaluation metrics and judging/ review sheets will be provided.)

WHEN: September – December 2026

Gain exclusive insight into eye-opening, global, independent documentary filmmaking that explores the state of our contemporary world. Applicants must have a strong interest in human rights, social justice and social innovation and study or work in documentary film, journalism, international development or communications.
