The Outcome is an immersive VR experience designed by Onionlab that reflects on the environmental impact of each person’s daily decisions.
The piece is divided into two parts: In the first part, the user answers some questions about food, mobility, fashion, housing, or recycling. In the second phase, based on the result of these answers, the user will put on virtual reality goggles and will be able to visualize the future that awaits them if the entire population had the same carbon footprint.
The concept of “The Outcome” lies in the idea of using virtual reality technology as a tool for environmental awareness. By offering users an immersive experience that allows them to visualize the potential ramifications of their actions in a fictional future, we aim to stimulate reflection and behavior change.
Through interactive narrative and virtual environments, we aim to inspire users to make more conscious decisions in their daily lives, thus fostering greater commitment to environmental sustainability and collective well-being.
In most cases, the outcome will be the visualization of a dystopian world. In that scenario, the user will be able to visualize the utopian world from before, concluding the experience with a sense of hope.
