#FreeDeafRico is a feature documentary that sheds light on the experiences of Deaf, hard of hearing, and disabled individuals within the criminal justice system, with a focus on the case of Ricardo Harris. Rico, a Black Deaf man, has been wrongfully accused of a crime he did not commit and is currently facing systemic injustice in the Georgia prison system, where he has been denied qualified interpreters and essential communication access. His personal struggle highlights broader issues of systemic racism, ableism, and discrimination that disproportionately affect Black, Brown, and disabled prisoners.
